After a few weeks of steady head-scratching, phone-calling, screen-printing, html-face-pulling, pay-pal-authorising, template breaking, van-delivering, photo-taking, digi-trimming, holographic lasering, tea drinking work...

Haven't you heard? Last night... six of 'em.

The posters have been sitting here waiting for their holograms for a week now - so I thought I'd take some pictures of them to let everyone have look.

I know it's new and not very abstracted - but I love this poster so much.

I never expected all this hoopla

First I'd just like to say a quick thank you to anyone who is reading this.

I really started of doing all this after being made extremely miserable and seriously ill by the various stresses and strains of my work and my life in London. My doctor told me to take some time off and do nothing for a while.

When I'd had enough of doing nothing she suggested that I do something creative, something that I could do a bit at a time and that I would be in charge of.

So feeling on a real low I started doing something for myself.

In just over a month I've had almost 10,000 people looking at the site, people getting rather excited about the prints, gallery owners contacting me and even a french design magazine asking me if they can feature my work.

So I'd like to say thanks.

Because although I started just doing this by myself to make myself feel a bit better - everyone of you ended up helping and to be honest I feel like I've had more fun and motivation and rewarding feedback in the last month working alone in my armchair than I have had in the last ten years designing for other people at a desk.

So thanks. I hope you keep enjoying what I do - I want to keep doing it. And there's plenty of other ideas I never had time to do so who knows... maybe I'll do those as well.

But for now - I realise that people are feeling a bit locked out of the guessing game because of the first come first served system. This problem is exacerbated somewhat by the fact that I now have more than my original four readers.

So I will invoke 'Axton's rules' moving forward.

Basically from now on I will accept the first five correct guesses. The comments will be hidden till 5 answers are in - but don't worry I am reading them. If five start going really fast then I'll make it ten.

This takes effect now - but not for previously answered posts.

Hope this helps for people feeling left out.

It was a very sunny day today so I had a quick ride down to the beach and took some shots for the store. Here is the result...

Given enough time, a hypothetical chimpanzee typing at random would, as part of its output, almost surely produce one of Shakespeare's plays.

Well readers, I may have only had a weekend and I may not know anything about html but by God I am that chimp!

And what I have produced is enough to make a certain so-called playwrite sob into his ruff with jealousy and rage - behold... I give you...



A new sun is rising on the high-rez horizon and the name of this wonderous fiery ball is BIG-A-VISION. SEE coloured blocks as you've never seen them before, LOOK at the blanks even more closelyer than previously possible and then BLINK away the tears of humble disbelief at the sheer power and awesome majesty that is BIG-A-VISION.

So how does it work? Is it game? How do you do it? How do you know when it's done?

Sounds complicated, right?

Wrong! There's nothing to it - why, you probably know how to do it already - just click the poster you want see bigger and SHAZAM! it pops up bigger in a whole new window... you can even zoom into it - imagine that! Or maybe just grab it for your collection. When you're done just close-up the window and keep on browsing.

I know. It's incredible. But wait... there's more... I've also increased the size of all the regular posters so you can see them a bit better even before you make the the leap to BIG-A-VISION.

Now quite apart from doing that I also popped out today and took a few pictures for the product views for the upcoming shop. So while you're here I thought I'd give you a quick preview on how one of them is looking.

0045: Let it ring.

Here's my card.

Printing update - the first series of posters have officially begun the printing process. The original colours will be a limited edition of 50, the xtra series (my alternate colourway) will be a super-limited edition of 10 only. All will be individually signed and numbered by my good self.

I hope to have them completed within the next two weeks and to have the store online by the end of the month.

But to give you something printy to look at in the meantime here are the authentication cards.

"What are the authentication cards?" you may ask.

Well they are little mini CMYK versions of the poster that come with each order and act as a little thank you. Each comes in a neat little envelope and is numbered and signed.

And finally you may notice there is a big white gap between the logo and the 'Thank you' - well, even as you read this, somewhere in a secret underground bunker there are some FILM THE BLANKS authentication hologram stickers being created by special robots. With lasers.

That's right I said holograms. And robots. With lasers.

When they arrive they will be placed on each card and matching ones will be placed on the reverse of each poster. Then placed in the envelope. Then placed in a tube with the print and sent to you. If you buy one, of course.

Also just a quick note on the colours here.

The browny colour will actually be metallic gold on the prints themselves. Also the pink and orange that features in "Lousy Bicycles" and "Milk-plus XA" are fluorescent inks. In addition the xtra versions of "Lousy Bicycles" and "Milk-plus" are printed on coloured stock - Pistachio (very pale green) and Smoke (slate grey).
